Brocade Brigade! IFB "Be Uncommon", Get Inspired

As a fit model one of the biggest perks is seeing what will be trending in the upcoming seasons.  A recent trend in my fittings is brocade denim. These printed, textured and velvety fabrics are used in high end brands like McQueen and premium denim lines such as J Brand. Have to go to a cocktail party?  Throw on a pair of skinny brocade jeans, a slinky tank, heels and plenty of accessories; FAB.

Tan on the Pier

{ Zara Studded Blouse } { J Brand Coated Skinny Jeans } { Jeffrey Campbell Cap Toe Heels via Nasty Gal } { Oliver Peoples Sunnies }

The Monday after the festival weekend, Mike and I wandered Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square. The smell of waffle cones was tempting! We discovered Hyde Street Pier, which is the only floating National Park in America. It turned out to be the perfect location for a photo shoot despite the abruptly strong winds. I love the color of these subtly coated J Brand jeans. I've also been loving embellished collars, like this studded Zara blouse. I'm hoping to make my own version. Check back for that DIY post soon! Have a wonderful day~Xx~Steph

Zara Perfection

Zara's pre-fall lookbook is nothing short of perfection. As if my wardrobe didn't already largely consist of Zara, it looks like many of my fall purchases will come from this Spanish fashion-mecca. Leather, lace, sequins, peplums and beautiful embellishments. Sold. Have a good day!

I Left My Heart in San Francisco

{Forever 21 blouse} {Pacsun shorts} {Report booties} {Oliver Peoples Sunnies} {Club Monaco bangles} {American Apparel Watch}Outside Lands never fails to be anything but an amazing time with good friends and good music. It is a NorCal version of Coachella, a little more hippy and in a city I love. I can't help but feel nostalgic every time I visit San Francisco. Growing up in nearby Sacramento my mom used to take my sister and I on shopping trips to the city, summers were spent vacationing in nearby Santa Cruz, and plenty of weekends spent at neighboring bay area towns for tennis tournaments. Mike and I go back and forth about whether or not we will make the move to San Francisco. Until then, we always have Outside Lands:)

DIY Fringe Crochet Shirt

Mike and I decided to join our friends on a last minute trip to San Francisco this weekend for Outsidelands Music Festival at Golden Gate Park. My friends and I have an ongoing love for tie dye so it's only fitting that I makeover an old tie dye tank. It's inexpensive and relatively easy, and the result will be perfect festival attire!

Supplies:

Long Tank (mine is American Apparel)

Ruler

Scissors

Pen or chalk

Step 1: Measure how high up you desire your fringe to start from the bottom of your shirt hem. Dot with pen or chalk as a guide. Cut strips of fabric up to your mark, about 3/8" to a 1/2" wide, all the way around the circumference of your hem.

Step 2: Knot two pieces of fringe together near top of cut. Repeat around the circumference of shirt.

Step 3: There will be two strands of fringe hanging from each know. Take one strand from one knot, and a second strand from adjacent knot, and tie together using same technique as Step 2.

Step 4: Repeat Step 3, creating a third row of knots around circumference of shirt. Once complete, trim fringe to desired length.

Ready to wear!!

Instagram Round Up

I have yet to add my Instagram account to my blog, so in the mean time I will share a few of my favorite photos every month. Here are some pics from my girls trip to Palm Springs where we stayed at the Ace Hotel. There were so many cool details at the Ace it was inspiration overload! I even discovered a new, more affordable way to feature art that doesn't include framing. Below you can also see the other color way I made of the DIY crystal necklace I featured here. Make sure to follow @banjoeyes on Instagram!!
