{Wearstlerized}

I have been a huge fan of Kelly Wearstler for years. I came across pictures of a project she had recently completed for the remodel and interior design of a boutique hotel. Instantly, I was drawn to her modern and sophisticated design style. I still want to stay at these hotels just for the fabulous interiors! I soon discovered that she is just as talented when it comes to fashion design. And to add to that, she can make a killer jewelry collection which I am still waiting to get my hands on!

The pieces below are some I've been coveting for a while.
KW1Clockwise from top left:

1. Decorative Bronze Legs-Who doesn't love a great pair of legs?! ;)

2. Asymmetrical Squares Tray-Perfect for an ottoman that doubles as a coffee table.

3. Bejeweled Bottle Opener-So pretty displayed on a bar.

4. Studded Vase

5. Elliott Chair-I'm in love with this chair....modern but sill has that 70's feel. It also comes in black.

6. Memphis Marble Candlesticks-My fave color combo!

7. Marble Left Eye Skull-Great unexpected decorative piece

7. Marble Table-So chic, so elegant. A girls can dream, right!?!

I've loved these Brass Kaleidoscope's for quite some time. I was stunned to find similar ones at Pigment (first featured here) for a fraction of the cost! Even better, the version at Pigment have wall mounts while the Kelly Wearstler version are strictly for table top decor. Now, mine live happily in my "work-in-progress" living room. Can you guess which one is the original? Ok...Pigment's version is number 1!

Banjo Eyes in Hawaii

I had a great trip to Oahu a few weeks ago to visit my childhood best friend, Monica . I thought it would be fun to round up my favorite places she has introduced me to on the island. Everyday, we went to a new beach, a new boutique, or a new place to eat which was a great way to explore the island! I feel Oahu gets a bad rep because Waikiki is so "touristy". It is just as beautiful as the other islands, you may just have to drive to find the good spots:) Below are some of my favorite spots and pics from my recent trip.

1. Must see beaches: Lanikai and Kailua, about a 45 minute drive from Waikiki

Mokulua Dr, Kailua, HI 96734

2. Dole Plantation, A fun place to stop on the way to the North Shore.

3.. Guava Shop: My favorite boutique on the island for cute beach cover-ups, bikini's and delicious candles(North Shore): http://guavahawaii.com

The 19th Annual Honolulu Festival and Parade took place my final day. The firework show at dinner was the perfect end to my trip!

Hi Friends! Wow! Where have the last few weeks gone?! While I was away, I went to Hawaii to visit my childhood best friend, flew home for a quick trip to Sacramento, celebrated my birthday, got a fabulous new car, and have been mapping out the next few months of what is going to be a crazy work and social schedule. I decided as much as I love my blog, some other areas in my life required me to take a quick break to focus on my family, friends and yes, work. I definitely am guilty of becoming addicted to my computer, phone, ipad, etc.! It is nice (and important!) to set these devices aside every once in a while and truly appreciate life. And although I may be away from my computer, it doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about fashion! Of course, THAT would be impossible. Inspired by fashion....always.

One of the trends made more accessible by technology is laser cutting. I absolutely love the modern feel of laser cut clothes, shoes and jewelry. Maybe it's the artistic side of me that is drawn to these clothes (I love abstract art!). And I find the femininity and intricacy is the perfect amount of detailing. If you're tired of the cutout trends, this is a more subtle way to get the same look and show a lot less skin! This necklace/harness below, by Sass and Bide, is out-of-this-world amazing. Laser cut metal....yes please!

Xxx, Steph
