What's in a Name?

To say I was displeased to hear that Yves Saint Laurent would be changed to Saint Laurent is an understatement. The name change was implemented when Hedi Slimane took over as creative director at YSL in early 2012, after many years at Dior Homme.  SL just doesn't have the same ring to it, right?! Aside from the name change, Slimane debuted an absolutely amazing collection for Spring 2013.  Gorgeous jackets, feminine blouses, big floppy hats and the perfect little black pant....he earned back a few points in my book and I'm excited to see what he does next:)

Xxx,

Steph

P.S., apparently YSL will still be used as the logo for all branding, phew!

Uniform

Uniform

My uniform as of late consists of skinny jeans(distressed, more on those later this week!), a blazer, a simple tee, a killer pair of booties and a few long necklaces. As you can probably tell from my recent outfit posts, I have been gravitating towards black and white combos. Classic! In the next few months as it begins to warm up and I get some color back in my skin, no doubt I will start to wear color again. Until then, here are some more great pieces currently on my black and white wish list.

Xx,

Steph

DIY-Terrarium

On a family trip to San Diego in November my sister took my mom and I to the cutest home boutique, Pigment, in North Park. They had the most amazing "build-your-own-terrarium" materials so naturally I had to try! I do not have a good history with keeping plants alive, so succulents are a great option if you do not have a green thumb:) I love the way they turned out. How fun would it be to have a DIY terrarium girls night? A little wine and a cute project....FAB!

Materials:

Open-face terrarium (I bought mine at West Elm)

Potting Soil

Pumice Pieces

Terrarium appropriate plants (air plants, succulents)

Sand

Decorative elements (Moss, Rocks, Glass)

Gloves

Prabal Gurung, Target, Collab...Oh My!

As if his clothes weren't already fabulous enough, 95% of his clothes are produced in New York!  Only 5% are produced overseas, and that being the cashmere garments produced in his childhood home of Nepal. It's rare to find USA made clothes these days, especially high end lines! Major plus!

This collection for Target, debuting February 10, appears to be one of the best collaborations to date with more than 80 pieces full of bright colors, abstract prints and flattering cuts. These are a few of my favorites....what are yours?

Happy Monday!
